Stephen Herrera - Grounded Astronaut

What happens when you combine laid back hip hop beats with a spacey, dreamy atmosphere? We're not sure what to call it, but Stephen Herrera has it on lock. Hailing from the bustling Denver, Colorado, he is no stranger to the beat scene. Inspired by the likes of J Dilla, Madlib, and Flying Lotus, Stephen manages to blend the jazzy, the funky, the soulful, and the beautiful into small yet satisfying musical nuggets. His album, Grounded Astronaut, combines a head-in-the-sky dreaminess with an understanding of the wonder that is available to us every day; like a long-gone explorer returning home to smell the flowers. Stephen does his best to remind us all to remain humble while we're exploring the vast cosmos. We here at LUSH are so thankful to bring you Stephen Herrera's first album; we're not saying he's the next Flying Lotus but he sure sounds like it.
